Airfield Estates Runway Cabernet Sauvignon

Airfield Estates Runway Cabernet Sauvignon

Release Date: April 18, 2015

This classically styled Cabernet Sauvignon showcases pronounced aromas of blackcurrant with undertones of toasted oak and tea leaf. Enticing the mouth with a lively mid-palate, this well-balanced wine is framed with firm tannins that lead to a smooth finish of lingering berry flavours. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to a wide array of fare.

2009 Gehringer Brothers Private Reserve Pinot Gris

2009 Gehringer Brothers Private Reserve Pinot Gris

British Columbia, Canada

The juice of this wine is given short skin contact, thus the slight pink tinge. The contact also deepens the aroma profile. The wine offers notes of white peach, grapefruit, citrus and even a hint of honey. Dry and quite fresh, this zippy, intriguing wine is a fine palate-refresher, or match it to grilled calamari.

This wine also received 90 points from Sara D'Amato (www.winealign.com)

2012 Benton Lane Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

2012 Benton Lane Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Oregon, USA

Scents of dark plum gain contour from spice notes of clove and forest floor. The flavors are plush and exuberantly round, creamy in the middle, the finish hinting back at soil.

2012 Matetic EQ San Antonio Valley Pinot Noir

2012 Matetic EQ San Antonio Valley Pinot Noir

San Antonio Valley, Chile

The destemmed grapes for the 2012 EQ Pinot Noir fermented in open inox vats with punching down, with indigenous yeasts, and the wine was aged for 14 months in a mixture of French oak barrels, making for a serious, attractive nose of sour cherries, blood oranges and a medium-bodied palate with good freshness and balance, clean, delineated flavors and a tasty, and dare I say it, mineral feeling. Great Pinot. Drink now through 2017.

2012 Koyle Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon

2012 Koyle Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon

Colchagua Valley, Chile

The 2012 Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon seems like a ripe commercial-driven Cabernet, with textbook aromas of cassis, blackberries and graphite, and the telltate tannins of the Bordeaux grape, with grip and good acidity. Drink now through 2016.

2013 La Griffe Bernard Chéreau Muscadet Sèvre & Maine

2013 La Griffe Bernard Chéreau Muscadet Sèvre & Maine

Loire, France

Notions of freshly cut hay, lime and grapefruit zest are joined by touches of sea salt and stones. Racy and fresh with good cut. This is a superb sipping wine for a sunny patio, but will be great when paired with pan-seared scallops, freshwater fish, or mussels.

2011 Castello di Spaltenna Chianti Classico

2011 Castello di Spaltenna Chianti Classico
